Alaska Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski agreed with Senator Jeff Flake’s call for an investigation into the allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Friday afternoon.
.@ckmarie: do you support Senator Flake’s call for a delay and an FBI investigation?
@lisamurkowski: “Yes I do. It has to be limited in time and scope…I support the FBI having an opportunity to bring some closure to this.”— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) September 28, 2018
Prior to the Senate Judiciary Committee’s vote advancing Kavanaugh’s nomination to the full Senate, Flake came to an agreement with Democrats for a one-week FBI investigation into the allegations against Kavanaugh.
When asked about whether or not she supports an investigation, she said, “Yes I do. It has to be limited in time and scope … I support the FBI having an opportunity to bring some closure to this,” according to CNN congressional reporter Clare Foran.
Murkowski is one of a handful of undecided Senators that will determine whether or not Kavanaugh will get confirmed to the highest court.
