Bradley’s Cooper new movie, “A Star is Born,” is exceeding expectations at the box office.
It’s already made more than $3 million in Thursday showings, and it sounds like it’s only going to get much better. (RELATED: Bradley Cooper Had Some Great Takes As An Intern About Having Sex With Friends)
The Hollywood Reporter also reported the following details Friday:
A Star Is Born marks Cooper’s feature directorial debut. He also stars in the film opposite mega-recording artist Lady Gaga in her first lead role as an actress. The music-infused romantic drama is tracking to open to $30 million plus, although more bullish observers believe it could cross $40 million in its domestic launch.

This might be a little off-brand for me, but I actually think this movie looks damn good. Cooper and Lady Gaga look like a hell of a squad, judging from the trailer.
This really is a change of pace for the star of “The Hangover.” He’s a guy who usually elicits laughs, but now he’s going substantially more serious.
Of course, this isn’t the only serious movie he’s been in. He’s playing a super serious role in “The Mule.”
You can see “A Star is Born” this weekend in theaters.
