Freeze compiled a 39-25 record in his five seasons in Oxford, including two victories over Alabama, and a Sugar Bowl win in 2015. He was fired a few weeks before the start of the 2017 season, after it was revealed that he contacted escorts on a university-issued cell phone.
Western Kentucky previously employed Bobby Petrino following his firing from Arkansas, and the hiring of Freeze would solidify the program’s reputation as “Second Chance U.”
