Going into “Drawdown,” we knew the episode would focus on peace talks with the Taliban, which was obviously meant to mirror real life. (REVIEW: Tempers Flare In The New ‘SEAL Team‘ Episode ‘Last Known Location’)
Well, it was a hell of an episode. Bravo is having to wrestle with the fact the enemy they’ve spent well over a decade fighting is now the enemy they must make peace with.
In one of the most powerful moments in a long time on “SEAL Team,” Bravo talks at a table with all the names of the men lost in the fight against the Taliban.

Yet, as professional as ever, Bravo accepts the orders as best they can, and must transport a convoy to high level peace talks.
When it looks like they’re walking into an ambush, it’s instead revealed that somebody fired a shot in a likely attempt to get the Taliban and SEALs to open up on each other.
It looked like things had de-escalated, but we find out Jason’s old translator buddy was executed and his hands were cut off. Despite the fact it looked like peace was on the horizon, it was a dark and blunt reminder Afghanistan is still a bloody war zone and nothing comes easy.
As for Clay, he was sent to a small outpost after accepting Lindell’s State 21 offer. Are we being set up for a story line where his small outpost gets attacked and Clay has to be the hero? It would certainly seem to be that way.

Sonny is back in Texas, and we find out he’s not close at all with his father. It was an okay storyline, but not a ton of time was spent on it.

Overall, it was a great episode, and it looks like things are a path for a lot of action down the road. Can’t wait to see what we get next week on CBS!
