Major celebrities including Natalie Portman and Serena Williams have reportedly teamed up to created a pro women’s soccer team in Los Angeles.
The team, called Angel City, will be part of the National Women’s Soccer League and Los Angeles’ first pro women’s soccer team, according to a report published Tuesday by TMZ. The investors behind the Angel City team, which include Portman, reportedly claim there is a demand for a women’s soccer team in Los Angeles.
Other investors include Williams’ husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, entrepreneur Julie Uhrman and technology star Kara Nortman.
