First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon said that President Donald Trump will not be allowed to visit the country during President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony.
The president has allegedly been preparing to travel to Scotland one day before the inauguration, according to the Independent, telling Prestwick airport to prepare for the arrival of a U.S. 757 military aircraft on that date.
The White House has refused to deny that Trump would leave the country before the inauguration, according to Mediaite.
Sturgeon warned Trump on Tuesday that he would not be allowed to travel to Scotland during Biden’s swearing-in ceremony to play on his golf course, according to the Independent.
Asked whether Pres. Trump would be allowed to travel to Scotland around inauguration, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says the country’s lockdown measures apply to everyone.

Sturgeon cited COVID-19 in her warning, stating in a press conference that, “Coming to play golf is not what I would consider to be an essential purpose.” (RELATED: New Coronavirus Strain From The UK Found In New York)
“We are not allowing people to come into Scotland without an essential purpose right now and that would apply to him, just as it applies to anybody else.” Sturgeon said, according to the Independent. Sturgeon also said during her conference that she had no idea what the President’s travel plans were, but expected that “the travel plan immediately that he has is to exit the White House.”
Congress is expected to meet on Wednesday to certify the results of the election to officially declare Biden as President-elect, although a group of Republican lawmakers have publicly voiced their intention to block the certification of the election.
