Biden Sets 9/11/21 As New Deadline To Get Out Of Afghanistan
As officials disclosed Biden’s pullout plans, the U.S. intelligence community renewed deep concerns on Tuesday about the outlook for the U.S.-backed government in Kabul, which is clinging to an eroding stalemate.
“The Afghan government will struggle to hold the Taliban at bay if the coalition withdraws support,” said the U.S. assessment, which was sent to Congress.
“Kabul continues to face setbacks on the battlefield, and the Taliban is confident it can achieve military victory.”
The Democratic president had faced a May 1 withdrawal deadline, set by his Republican predecessor, Donald Trump, who tried but failed to pull the troops out before he left office.
Biden’s decision will keep 2,500 troops in Afghanistan past that May 1 deadline, but officials suggested troops could fully depart before Sept. 11. U.S. troop numbers in Afghanistan peaked at more than 100,000 in 2011.
“There is no military solution to the problems plaguing Afghanistan, and we will focus our efforts on supporting the ongoing peace process,” a senior administration official said.
NEOCONS BEAT THE DRUM…
Bill Kristol: It’s been a difficult and frustrating war—but preventing terror attacks from Afghanistan and preventing a Taliban takeover, have, I think, been worth it. It continues to be worth it. Why withdraw and risk Kabul falling, and all that might follow from that?
Lindsey Graham: If reports are accurate that President Biden is withdrawing all forces from Afghanistan by September of this year, it is a disaster in the making. A full withdrawal from #Afghanistan is so irresponsible, it makes the Biden Administration policies at the border look sound.
“In fact in the meantime, what we said we would do, we would help train the Afghan military. It’s their responsibility to take over their own security. That’s why with 49 of our allies in Afghanistan, we’ve agreed on a gradual draw-down so we’re out of there, by the year, in the year 2014…”
“We went there for one reason, to get those people who killed Americans, Al-Qaeda. We decimated Al-Qaeda central, we have eliminated Osama Bin Laden, that was our purpose…”
“We are leaving, we are leaving in 2014. Period. And in the process, we’re gonna be saving over the next 10 years another $800 billion. We’ve been in this war for over a decade, the primary objective is almost completed. Now all we’re doing is putting the Kabul government in a position to be able to maintain their own security. It’s their responsibility, not Americans…”
“They’re happy to let us continue to do the job, international security forces to do the job. The only way they step up is say fellas we’re leaving. we trained you. Step up step up. That’s the only way it works.”
Biden Accepts Invitation To Address A Joint Session Of Congress
An address to a joint session of Congress is essentially the State of the Union address, however, it is not referred to as such until the president’s second year in office. Pelosi invited Biden to give the address in a letter, setting the date for April 28, which Biden accepted.
“Nearly 100 days ago, when you took the oath of office, you pledged in a spirit of great hope that ‘Help Is On The Way.’ Now, because of your historic and transformative leadership, Help Is Here!,” Pelosi wrote in the letter.
“In that spirit, I am writing to invite you to address a Joint Session of Congress on Wednesday, April 28, to share your vision for addressing the challenges and opportunities of this historic moment. Thank you for considering this invitation to speak to the Congress and the Nation,” she continued…
In the past, presidents such as Donald Trump and Barack Obama held their joint session of Congress in late February. Trump delivered his on Feb. 28, 2017, Obama delivered his on Feb. 24, 2009. Trump’s was the latest to date, however, Biden has now surpassed him.
Checking In On Minnesota
The officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright just resigned, as did the chief of police
Kim Potter, the police officer in Brooklyn Center, Minn., who fatally shot Daunte Wright on Sunday, has resigned from the Police Department, her union said in a statement on Tuesday.
The city’s police chief, Tim Gannon, also announced that he was departing.
In a letter that Ms. Potter sent to city officials on Tuesday, she said she was resigning immediately, the union said.
“I have loved every minute of being a police officer and serving this community to the best of my ability, but I believe it is in the best interest of the community, the department and my fellow officers if I resign immediately.”
‘I Lost My Job, But I Still Have My Integrity‘ — Brooklyn Center City Manager Who Was Fired For Calling For Due Process Speaks Out
The city manager of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota told Fox News Tuesday night that he still has integrity despite losing his job Monday after calling for due process for the police officer that shot Duante Wright.
“I lost my job, but I still have my integrity,” former City Manager Curt Boganey told Fox News in a statement, Tucker Carlson revealed on his Tuesday night show.
Carlson said that Fox News invited Boganey on air, but he was hesitant to make any media appearances.
Boganey was fired from his job by the Brooklyn Center City Council after saying that the police officer who shot Duante Wright should have due process.

How serious is this Johnson & Johnson scare? Here’s what we know
Only six people out of 6.8 million experienced clots after taking the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. That’s fewer than one in a million.
To put that in context, Dr. Helen W. Boucher, chief of the Division of Geographic Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Tufts Medical Center, provided these statistics: 500 to 1,200 blood clots occur per one million people who take birth control pills, 1,700 clots per million smokers, and 165,000 clots per million people with COVID-19.
Clearly, the risks of COVID-19 far outweigh the risks of this or any other approved vaccine…
The rare blood clots occurred about a week after vaccination, and none longer than three weeks after. “If you’re more than a month out from the vaccine, you shouldn’t worry,” said Dr. Jean Marie Connors, a hematologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
If you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine within three weeks, rest assured that the symptoms of a blood clot are not subtle. If you develop one, you will feel severe pain in the leg, abdomen, or head, or shortness of breath, depending on where the clot has lodged, Boucher said.
“I’m speaking of a very bad headache or very bad abdominal pain. Not a little bit of nausea,” she said.
Won’t this incident contribute to vaccine hesitancy?
Public health officials argue it should do the opposite.
“Overall, I think it’s reassuring that with our safety surveillance strategies, we’re able to pick up such a rare side effect,” said Dr. Paul Sax, clinical director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Boucher, the Tufts infectious disease specialist, said she hopes that pausing the Johnson & Johnson vaccinations will reassure people that the safety measures are working. “People are paying attention, doing their jobs protecting the public health,” she said.
“It’s really important to come back to the risk of COVID disease,” Boucher added. “We have vaccines that are effective and safe, to protect you from a disease with a measurable and significant risk of dying. All the scientific expertise we can bring to bear in our country is working to keep the public safe.”
The symptoms are “different from the mild flu-like symptoms that many people experience a couple of days after receiving the vaccine,” Dr. Anne Schuchat, the CDC’s principal deputy director, said at a press briefing Tuesday.
First lady Jill Biden to undergo ‘procedure’
The White House says President Joe Biden will accompany his wife, Jill Biden, early Wednesday morning to an appointment where she will undergo a “common medical procedure.”
The White House says both Bidens will then return to the White House and “resume their normal schedule.”
The White House did not immediately detail the nature of the first lady’s procedure.
BLM’s ‘Marxist’ Co-Founder Raked In $20,000 A Month As Chairwoman Of Jail Reform Group
Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation co-founder and executive director Patrisse Cullors, a self-identified “trained Marxist,” raked in upwards of $20,000 a month serving as the chairwoman of a Los Angeles jail reform group in 2019, according to campaign finance records reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Reform LA Jails disbursed a total of $191,000 to Cullors in 2019 through her consulting firm, Janaya and Patrisse Consulting, according to financial records submitted to the California Fair Political Practices Commission. The description for each of the seven reported payments to the Cullors’ firm that year read: “P. Cullors, Principal Officer, Business Owner.”
It’s unclear when exactly Reform LA Jails began paying Cullors through her firm, which is named after the BLM co-founder and her spouse, Janaya Khan. The first payment of $51,000 occurred between January 2019 and the end of June 2019, according to an FPPC report covering that timeframe. The exact date of the payment isn’t disclosed in the report.
Reform LA Jail’s following report, which covered the three-month period starting July 2019 through the end of September 2019, disclosed four payments totaling $60,000 to Cullors’ firm.
Top Trump Admin Official Praises Biden For Adopting ‘Nearly All’ Of His Predecessor’s China Policies
Brooke Rollins, CEO and President of the just-launched America First Policy Institute, told Daily Caller that “the Trump Administration set and reset policy on our most important foreign relationships in such a compelling fashion that you can even see the Biden Administration beginning to acquiesce to nearly all of it.”
“Despite stumbles out of the gate, you now see his DHS Secretary, for example, discussing building the border wall, and individuals like John Kerry and Tony Blinken grind their teeth at how tough working with China is,” she continued. “Only time will tell whether the Biden Administration is up to meeting the standard of responsible governance that we set.”
The Capitol Police had clearer advance warnings about the Jan. 6 attack than were previously known, including the potential for violence in which “Congress itself is the target.” But officers were instructed by their leaders not to use their most aggressive tactics to hold off the mob, according to a scathing new report by the agency’s internal investigator.
In a 104-page document, the inspector general, Michael A. Bolton, criticized the way the Capitol Police prepared for and responded to the mob violence on Jan. 6. The report was reviewed by The New York Times and will be the subject of a Capitol Hill hearing on Thursday.
Mr. Bolton found that the agency’s leaders failed to adequately prepare despite explicit warnings that pro-Trump extremists posed a threat to law enforcement and civilians and that the police used defective protective equipment. He also found that the leaders ordered their Civil Disturbance Unit to refrain from using its most powerful crowd-control tools — like stun grenades — to put down the onslaught.
WTF? MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace Compares Trump To TV Serial Killer: ‘A Good Boyfriend If…’
Wallace used the comparison to attack former Republican House Speaker John Boehner — who admitted that he had voted for Trump — and argued that as long as there were people willing to support Trump, the Republican Party was beyond saving.
“I used to watch ‘Dexter,’ Michael Steele, and it was like, he would be such a good boyfriend if he wasn’t a killer. This is the sickness of the Republican Party,” Wallace said. “The sickness isn’t actually anyone with the last name Trump. The sickness is John Boehner, who’s, like, well, yeah, I liked his positions on regulation so I voted for an insurrectionist liar, corrupt guy who was suspiciously cozy with Vladimir Putin. The Republican Party cannot be fixed with people like John Boehner voting for Donald Trump in 2020.”
LOL POLL: Ranking All 50 States And DC — The District Comes Dead Last
The poll asked Americans to choose the better of two states in a series of head-to-head matchups. All 50 states were available for choosing, including the District of Columbia (D.C.), but not including U.S. territories. States were rated based on their “win-percentage,” or how often each state was chosen when it was placed against another state.
Hawaii received the top place, with nearly 69% of Americans choosing it as a winner of the state match-ups. Washington, D.C., received the lowest percentage polling at 35%.
