Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia described how she reacted to a 1 a.m. “swatting” incident during a Wednesday appearance on Real America’s Voice.
“I believe in defending myself and normally I answer the door with a gun, especially if it’s someone that I don’t expect coming to my home,” Greene told guest host Jack Posobiec on “The Charlie Kirk Show.” “But for some reason I had this weird gut instinct to not take my gun with me to the front door, which is, was very out of the norm for me. “Swatting” is defined by the Anti-Defamation League as “the deliberate and malicious act of reporting a false crime or emergency to evoke an aggressive response (often a SWAT team) from a law enforcement agency to a target’s residence or place of work.”
Police received a call claiming that a man had been shot in the bathtub of Rep. Greene’s home in Rome, Georgia, Wednesday morning, and a second call that claimed children were present, Greene said. The nature of the calls prompted authorities to dispatch members of a SWAT team.
“I opened the door and the officer standing there, he said, ‘Ma’am, are, are you okay? Is everything okay here?’ But it was the body posture of the police. Uh, that was really concerning me,” Greene told Posobiec.

The caller later claimed they tried to swat Greene over her views on transgender issues Greene introduced legislation to criminalize “gender-affirming” procedures, including surgery and hormone treatments, on minors Friday.
“I could not believe someone would do that. And I was shocked, because they put not only did they put my life and my family’s life in danger, they also put the police officer’s lives in danger,” Greene said.
Greene claimed she was “swatted” again in a Thursday post on Twitter.
Greene did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
