President Joe Biden called Republican proposals “semi-fascism” during a Thursday speech at a Democratic fundraiser in Montgomery County, Maryland.
“It’s not hyperbole, now you need to vote to literally save democracy again,” Biden said at the event held at Richard Montgomery High School. (RELATED: Ex-CIA Director: Republicans Are The Most ‘Dangerous’ Political Group Ever)
The Democratic Party raked in $1 million during the fundraiser at the public high school located in Rockville, Maryland, while Biden attacked former President Donald Trump and his supporters, Reuters reported.
“America must choose. You must choose. Whether our country will move forward or backward,” Biden said.
Like Secretary Clinton’s “basket of deplorable,” @JoeBiden smear of “semi-fascist” goes into the category of insulting voters in never-to-be-forgotten fashion. Question for every Democratic candidate: “Now many semi-fascists in your state?” Will MSM ask? https://t.co/GNiijfuMXS

“Trump and the extreme MAGA Republicans have made their choice – to go backwards full of anger, violence, hate and division,” Biden continued, alleging that the former president and his supporters “refuse to accept the will of the people.”
Biden has a 41.9% approval rating, according to the RealClearPolitics average, and 70.5% believe that the country is on the wrong track.
Biden’s comments came in the wake of the Aug. 8 raid on Mar-a-Lago, the Florida estate owned by Trump. Many Republicans criticized the raid as an “abuse of power” by the Biden administration.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
