Former CIA Director Michael Hyden agreed with a Twitter post that called Republicans “dangerous” Wednesday in the wake of the Aug. 8 raid on Mar-a-Lago.

“I’ve covered extremism and violent ideologies around the world over my career,” Edward Luce, an associate editor of The Financial Times, posted on Twitter last week. “Have never come across a political force more nihilistic, dangerous & contemptible than today’s Republicans. Nothing close.” (RELATED: Former CIA Director Appears To Suggest Trump Be Executed Over Nuclear Documents)

“I agree,” Hayden posted on Twitter Wednesday. “And I was the CIA Director.” Hayden’s post was re-tweeted by Luce.

This is not the first time that Hayden made an inflammatory tweet. Days after the Aug. 8 Mar-a-Lago raid, he quoted a tweet about the execution of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, appearing to imply Trump should be executed.

“Sounds about right,” Hayden said in his Aug. 11 tweet as speculation about the involvement of nuclear secrets in the raid swirled based on an Aug. 11 report by The Washington Post.

Republicans and conservatives slammed the raid on the Florida estate owned by former President Donald Trump, claiming it was proof of an “abuse of power” by a politicized and weaponized agency.

“A former CIA director is labeling half of Americans as worse than ISIS and Al-Qaeda,” RNC spokeswoman Emma Vaughn told the Daily Caller News Foundation said in response to Hayden’s comments. “Dangerous rhetoric from the left led to an assassination attempt on a U.S. Supreme Court Justice, a shooting at a Congressional baseball practice, Molotov cocktails at pregnancy centers, rampant crime in major cities, and an open border. Call out the left on their threatening hyperbole, then we will talk.”
