Acting icon Jon Voight said Tuesday that President Joe Biden is trying to “systematically eliminate” the “progress” made during former President Donald Trump’s administration.

Voight voiced his opinion during an episode of Newsmax’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight.” The actor, 83, discussed the social decline impacting California, according to an article shared by the outlet. The answer to crises facing California, such as homelessness, is “proper leadership” and “people who really want to solve something,” Voight said during the interview.

“We had President Trump take a look at the problems when he came into office, and he solved them one after the other because he’s a person who’s a doer and he’s a problem-solver,” the actor said to host Rob Schmitt. “And now, we have another person in office, and they’re systematically eliminating all of the progress that [Trump] made.”

“They don’t know what right and wrong is,” Voight said. He went on to call the rapid rise in criminal activity and record-high violent crime rate in California a “problem of morality.”

“It seems like something simple like that, you know. So, they [California authorities] pass on [punishing] people who are dangerous to the community, and we’ve seen lots of unfortunate things happen. A lot of people have been victimized by so many people, and then they put them back on the streets too.” (RELATED: Democrat-Run Cities Have More Homicides Per Capita, Data Shows)

Despite his concerns, Voight appeared optimistic in the lead-up to the 2022 midterm elections in November. “Little by little, it’s going to turn around,” he claimed. You can watch the full interview here:
