Former President Donald Trump confirmed Tuesday he voted for incumbent Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis in the Sunshine State just days after he took a jab at the possible 2024 contender.

“Did you vote for Gov. DeSantis?” a reporter asked.

“Yes I did,” Trump said, flashing a thumbs up. (RELATED: Ana Navarro Praises Trump’s New Nickname For Ron DeSantis)

Trump mocked DeSantis in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, on Sunday as he read a poll that was conducted shortly after the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago home in August.

“Trump at 71, Ron DeSanctimonious at 10%,” Trump said at the rally. “Mike Pence at 7, oh, Mike is doing better than I thought.”

While DeSantis has yet to announce intentions to run in 2024, polls show that college educated Republicans tend to favor DeSantis over Trump. Trump has been distancing himself from DeSantis, having not campaigned for the governor’s re-election or inviting him to rallies in Florida.

A June poll showed DeSantis with a slight lead over Trump among likely Republican New Hampshire voters, with DeSantis garnering 39% while Trump pulled in 37%. The poll surveyed 318 likely GOP primary voters from June 16-20 with a 5.5% margin of error.

Another poll from July found Trump leading DeSantis in Michigan, with trump gaining 45.2% of the vote against DeSantis’ 41.6%.
