MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski gushed over Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Friday morning, saying everyone should be in “awe” of Pelosi unless they belong to a right-wing “cult.”

Pelosi announced Thursday she would not seek reelection to Democratic House leadership but will remain a member of Congress. Pelosi has been House speaker since 2019 and previously held the position from 2007 to 2011.

The “Morning Joe” panel wasted no time lauding Pelosi, with Washington Post columnist David Ignatius saying Pelosi was “cool as a cucumber” during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

“She’s saying to people, ‘You do this, and we need to have this done.’ And, you know, she’s not frightened. She’s not agitated. She is the essence of a leader. And that’s the person who, over all these years, ran this caucus, and you knew to be afraid of her,” Ignatius said.

“She was tough, tough, tough,” Ignatius added.

“She could turn out the count,” Brzezinski said. “It’s the end of an era and an incredible one, and I mean, whether you’re a Republican or Democrat, it’s sort of hard not to be in awe of what she has accomplished. Unless you’re in a cult.” (RELATED: MSNBC Analyst Gushes Over ‘Greatest’ Speaker Pelosi)

Pelosi’s announcement comes after Republicans gained control of the House, reaching a narrow majority after a tight midterm election cycle.
