The FBI has released video footage of the last known independent proof showing a missing 11-year-old girl alive.

The video footage, released Tuesday, shows Madalina Cojocari walking off a school bus Nov. 21 at about 5:00 p.m., according to the FBI in Charlotte, North Carolina. Madalina is wearing a t-shirt and a backpack, and she fixes her necklace at one point in the footage. The video is the last known evidence of her being alive, although she was allegedly last seen Nov. 23.

“This is the last time investigators have independent confirmation of when Madalina was last seen,” the FBI Charlotte said in a Twitter announcement. “She got off the bus on 11-21-22, at 4:59 p.m. We are seeking additional witnesses outside of the family to narrow down the exact timeline of when she disappeared.”

Madalina’s mother, Diana Cojocari, and the girl’s stepfather told detectives they last saw her Nov. 23, according to the Cornelius Police Department, the FBI Charlotte and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).

Employees at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School district repeatedly contacted Diana regarding Madalina’s persistent absence from school, authorities said. Diana went to Bailey Middle School on Dec. 15 and told the resource officer Madalina was missing. (RELATED: FedEx Driver Charged With Murder After Body Of Missing 7-Year-Old Found In Texas)

The FBI Charlotte said Monday they are “following many leads” and brought their search to Lake Cornelius “as a precautionary measure.”

Diana and the girl’s stepfather, Christopher Palmiter, were arrested Saturday and each charged with one count of failure to report the disappearance, according to the New York Post.
