A home caretaker in Villa Park, Illinois, was charged Wednesday after allegedly sexually assaulting a disabled man he was hired to help in January.

Salvador Buenconsejo, 64, sexually assaulted a man with multiple sclerosis who is confined to a wheelchair for mobility, according to WGN. Buenconsejo is also accused of taking a video of the man’s genitals Jan. 5 while the victim was unaware.

Family of the victim reported Buenconsejo to authorities after becoming suspicious of his alleged activities, according to Fox 32 Chicago. (RELATED: Caretaker At Senior Living Facility Arrested For Allegedly Raping 87-Year-Old Woman With Dementia)

“The allegations levied against Mr. Buenconsejo are, in a word, unconscionable,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin said in a news release, WGN reported. “Persons with disabilities rely on others for their day-to-day living. They literally entrust their caregivers with their lives. It is alleged that Mr. Buenconsejo betrayed the trust placed in him in the most vile manner conceivable.”

Prosecutors charged Buenconsejo with aggravated criminal sexual assault of a person with a physical disability and unauthorized video recording, Fox 32 reported.

A judge in DuPage County, Illinois, issued a $300,000 arrest warrant for Buenconsejo on Monday, according to the outlet. He was brought into custody and is being held without bond with a hearing set for Feb. 28.
