Democratic California Rep. Ro Khanna said Tuesday night Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis doesn’t have a chance at 2024 and said former President Donald Trump would “crush” DeSantis.

Khanna was asked about an upcoming meeting between big executives such as Tim Cook, Bob Iger with members of Congress and whether he would talk to Bob Iger about DeSantis’ fight with Disney.

“DeSantis is not going to win the primary. He’s sort of yesterday’s news,” Khanna said.

“Why do you say that DeSantis has no chance to win the primary? Congressman, it’s a little early for that maybe.”

“I never thought that. I think he’s way overrated, I think Trump is going to crush him and anyone that goes out and talks to folks, look, and I have no sympathy for Donald Trump, but when Donald Trump speaks he goes out to the midwest of this country and he says we lost your manufacturing jobs and I have a plan to bring them back.” (RELATED: Florida Lawmaker Denies Draft Elections Bill Will Greenlight DeSantis’ Presidential Run)

“You need to have an economic vision, I disagree with Donald Trump’s vision but he’s speaking to actual issues voters in the heartland and midwest  care about,” Khanna said.

DeSantis’ legal battle with Disney began after the company publicly opposed his legislation restricting teaching gender ideology and sexuality from students in kindergarten through third grade. DeSantis later passed legislation abolishing the Reedy Creek improvement district which allowed Disney to have a self-governing status.
