I’m diggin’ this, Baltimore.

I remember just a few years ago when baseball purists were getting their way in ruining the fun that players have when it comes to celebrations, when it was a sin to even show the slightest amount of emotion. For some reason, it was viewed as disrespectful to the game.

My, oh my, how things have changed.

Since the 2023 season has started, we’ve seen home run celebrations in particular that feature crowns, giant chains, jackets, Viking helmets and now we apparently have … beer bongs?

Well, according to the Baltimore Orioles, they’re called “dong bongs” and they’re absolutely fantastic.

Now I did some research and couldn’t find exactly what they’re pouring in these dong bongs, but it looks like a plain ol’ water bottle, but I have my suspicions that it’s some kind of clear alcoholic drink — like one of those tasty Smirnoff drinks that taste like a soda and just happen to have a little bit of alcohol in it.

And man, wouldn’t that make your game so much more fun? (RELATED: St. Louis Cardinals Rookie Jordan Walker Accomplishes Feat Not Seen In Nearly 100 Years)

Plus, if you’re Orioles manager Brandon Hyde, it’s a good way to reward your athletes for good play. If they get a home run, they get a nice drink of tasty alcohol.

Sounds good to me.
