Morgan Wallen-themed “promposals” are apparently the biggest thing going on in American high schools in 2023, according to a report published Tuesday.

Using data from Google Trends, Taste of Country reported that one of the top “promposal” ideas for kids features the “Last Night” singer. For those not in-the-know, a “promposal” is when a guy (usually, but hey, it’s 2023) makes an elaborate public show of asking a girl (again, 2023) if she’ll be his prom date.

At least one example of a Wallen-themed promposal was shared on TikTok. It shows a boyfriend and girlfriend walking into a home, where they’re met by his friends who are singing the country start’s “Chasing You” and holding up a sign asking her to go to prom. Obviously, the lucky lady said yes!

Taste of Country also shared a screenshot of a promposal that included a banner reading, “I know I’m not Morgan Wallen, but let me spin you around at prom?” The question that references lyrics from another of Wallen’s incredible hit songs. It would appear that no matter how hard the mainstream fun police hate Wallen, Americans cannot get enough of him. He’s the top selling music artist right now, and the young people absolutely love him. He’s basically unstoppable. And it’s inspiring. As entertainment guru Shep Gordon once said, if you can get the young people to love the artist, you’ve got fans for life (or something along these lines). And you’re creating a culture that will long outlast the fads of today.

Doesn’t this just prove that we do still have at least some semblance of freedom in America? If someone who was previously canceled by the mainstream can go on to be this big, there is hope for us all!
