Shocking video shows a massive group of looters bum-rushing a Compton gas station and stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise while the clerk hid inside.
The incident happened Sunday night at the Arco gas station. Video showed one man smashing a glass door as dozens of looters wait behind him. Suddenly the group rushes into the gas station and begins stealing drinks, snacks, alcohol and other items off the shelves.
Compton resident and frequent patron of the Arco gas station Greg Johnson told ABC 7 it was “unreal.”

Another resident identified only as Tamara said it was terrifying, according to the report.
“The mob of people period. You don’t know how they are going to react once they get in. And if someone is in there I know that they are terrified.”
No injuries were reported but authorities say thousands of dollars was stolen.
Authorities were unable to intervene at the Arco station because they were “outnumbered” after having to deal with several other takeovers throughout the city, according to ABC 7. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said they are “currently limited with their staffed personnel” and “couldn’t intervene with the giant takeover groups for safety concerns” due to being “outnumbered.”
