Fox News contributor Leo Terrell criticized Democrats who likened the parental rights group Moms for Liberty to the Taliban on Tuesday.

“What’s wrong with parents being involved? This is the Democratic strategy to indoctrinate their children and they don’t want parents involved in the curriculum or the lesson plans. It just doesn’t make any sense,” Terrell said on “Fox & Friends.”

Moms for Liberty is an organization of parents who has been targeted by some on the left over its calls for parental rights in their children’s education and for opposing gender ideology. The organization’s mission is to “hold leaders accountable,” “spread awareness” about the role of limited government, and “promote liberty” with the end goal of achieving parental rights in education, according to its website.

Democratic New Hampshire state Rep. Catherine Sofikitis likened the group to the Taliban in a Monday statement. She further labeled them “assholes with casseroles.” (RELATED: ‘We Are Being Censored’: Co-Founder Of Conservative Moms Group Blasts Twitter)

“Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy said the Democrats are “protecting their base” since they are backed by teachers unions pushing these ideologies. Terrell agreed and called on Moms for Liberty to push a school choice platform.

“Here’s the key, and this is where I wish the Moms for Liberty would add that other layer,” Terrell said. “School choice, Steve. If there is a Republican in the White House, I’ve got my fingers crossed. I want to be involved in making sure Moms for Liberty push school choice, which cuts across every political line. And basically, it will give Moms for Liberty and every parent the right to have some say in the curriculum and the direction of the kids that they have. This is critical, Steve.”

“Democrats have politicized this by making this us versus them,” he continued. “They have polarized this country saying that the kids belong to the state. They belong to the family. And by the way, I like casserole, I’m sure you and I can make casseroles and put T-shirts on them. So I don’t have any problem with casseroles, I like it.”
