A press dinner for presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at Tony’s on the Upper East Side reportedly descended into a screaming and farting match Tuesday night.

The confrontation began when Doug Dechert, the host of the event, referred to the “climate hoax” when RFK was asked a question about climate, and art critic Anthony Haden-West took offense, according to Page Six. Haden-Guest reportedly called Dechert a “miserable blob” and told him to “Shut up!” (RELATED: RFK Talks Vaccines, Dr. Fauci, On ‘Jesse Waters Primetime’)

While Dechert screamed that climate change was a “scam,” Haden-Guest called him “fucking insane” and “insignificant,” according to the outlet’s coverage of the event.

Dechert then farted loudly, yelling, “I’m farting!” While another attendee tried to change the subject, further questions about climate change during the event caused Dechert and Haden-Guest to yell at one another again, Page Six reported.

“I apologize for using my flatulence as a medium of public commentary in your presence,” Dechert told Page Six later, telling the outlet to refer to him as a “gallivanting boulevardier” or a “beer-fueled sex rocket.”

“I’ve known Doug many years. We have had spats before about this and that. We are not quite the same politically, but that doesn’t affect relationships in the UK. But I thought this was pretty ridiculous,” Haden-Guest said about the interaction, saying he has “zero tolerance” for Dechert’s views.

RFK remained calm through the duration of the interaction, according to Page Six.
