“The Chosen” actor Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus Christ, landed the July cover of TV Guide, and people are elated.

Roumie will be on the cover from July 24 to August 13, according to a post shared the actor’s social media. “Summer is Saved!” the cover reads next to an image of Roumie dressed as “The Chosen’s” interpretation of Jesus for the series.

“The Chosen” is one of the most popular television series in the world. It tells the story of Jesus Christ’s time on Earth, and how He came to be the savior of our souls, and performed the miracles that proved His place as the Son of God.

The show was licensed by Angel Studios, the same team who brought us “Sound of Freedom.” (RELATED: One TV Could Finally Bring The World Together. Here’s Why)

“Did you ever imagine a Jesus show would be on the cover of TV Guide? This feels historic. Get used to different, indeed. This points people to the airing of all three seasons on Sunday nights on The CW,” the series wrote on their Instagram page.

The series has also weathered some strangely intense times. It is one of the few television series to get a waiver from the Hollywood actor’s strike, and will conclude filming its fourth series in July. Some folks also tried to see the series socially cancelled after seeing a Pride flag on the set of the show, which didn’t work. It just made the haters look seriously un-Christian.
