Fox News’ Harris Faulkner pressed Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy on Thursday to reveal which Republicans are holding out on impeaching Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas.

Roy grilled Mayorkas on Wednesday about past testimony in which Mayorkas said the administration had “operational control” over the border. Roy asked Mayorkas if he was lying.

Roy told Harris the Biden administration has left Texas “stranded” amid a fentanyl and smuggling crisis.

“In the case of Alejandro Mayokas, he lied to us under oath in the Judiciary Committee stating that he had operational control of the border, smirking when he said it. He said it over and over and over again. I showed him that yesterday and read through the testimony. He had no response except to say ‘you didn’t give me time.’ That wasn’t true as the record shows,” Roy said.

“So every Republican should be on notice that they shouldn’t hide behind the Constitution, they should actually enforce the Constitution in this case and use the tools the Founders gave us, that James Madison wrote about in Federalist 58. It is time to remove Alejandro Mayokas. More than that it is now time to not give a single dollar in the appropriations process or to continuing resolution to the Department of Homeland Security until they pass H.R. 2, remove Mayokas and pay back Texas for the 10 billion dollars Texas has had to spend because the feds won’t do it,” he continued. “Again I ask the question, are you any closer to impeaching Mayokas?” Faulkner pressed. “And would you need more than the majority you have right now among Republicans in the House to start the House portion of that?”

“More Republicans have come to the the understanding and realization that he has committed high crimes and misdemeanors–”

“Who doesn’t think that among Republicans?” Faulkner interjected.

“There are a handful who are still holding on to an outdated perspective and hiding behind the Constitution rather than enforcing it. So we’re gonna go forward, the numbers are getting close, but the main thing to remember is I am going to throw every ounce of my being to stop any continuing resolution and any funding of the Department of Homeland Security. Our leadership, Republicans, should be on notice. This is not going to go easily. We are going to secure the border or damn well grind this place to a halt until they do,” Roy replied.
