Denver Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick reportedly tore his left Achilles during practice Monday and will miss a second consecutive season.

“I was watching it directly, he was running a route, it was something we had corrected earlier, on air, planted, thought it looked like he slipped,” coach Sean Payton told ESPN.

Almost a year ago to date, Patrick suffered a season-ending injury during practice that put him on the sidelines for all of 2022, according to Fox Sports. The WR caught a ball midair before landing awkwardly on his knee, resulting in an ACL tear.

Fast forward to July 31st. Patrick was reportedly carted off the field to receive medical treatment, and an MRI confirmed his worst fears, per ESPN. (RELATED: REPORT: NFL Team Set To Pull Most Cutthroat Move By Releasing Their Star Who Just Revealed He Has Heart Condition)

The Broncos play their first regular season game September 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The season is set to finish January 7, 2024, according to NFL Operations.

The last time Patrick competed was in 2021, where he led his team in touchdown receptions. He signed a three-year, $30 million extension in late 2021 and has yet to play a single minute since then, according to CBS Sports.
