Cleanup workers have left Montana’s Yellowstone river filled with toxic chemicals that spilled following a railroad bridge collapse in June, the Associated Press (AP) reported Wednesday.

Just when you thought so-called “authorities” couldn’t get any more useless, they’ve gone and left a ruptured railroad tank car in the middle of the Yellowstone River, as well as a heap of highly toxic chemicals that’ll likely cause devastation to the waterway’s ecosystem, according to AP.

A freight train carrying petroleum asphalt and molten sulfur through Montana crashed in June, and the remnants continue to poison the waterways today. More than half of the 48,000 gallons of petroleum asphalt reportedly has yet to be recovered (and likely won’t be, let’s be honest).

The spill stretches some 125 miles through areas used by fishermen, recreationists and all types of unique wildlife within this beautiful region of our country. Whitefish throughout the area are already so toxic an advisory was issued against eating them, with the fish containing a specific oil component present in the spilled asphalt, AP reported.

“What we’ve seen out there tells us that there should be a second phase of cleanup. They need to come back and they need to do a better job,” Montana Freshwater Partners executive director Wendy Weaver told the outlet. (RELATED: Video Captures Insane Aftermath Of Train Derailment)

A local task force will continue its assessment of the derailment’s damage and potentially employ a “different approach” to the cleanup process, Montana Rail Link spokesperson Andy Garland said, according to AP. Officials from the rail company said it’s more difficult for cleanup crews to operate their power boats as river levels sink, exposing more pollution.

When this current administration says it’s pro-environment, pro-climate change and all these other buzzwords to make you think they care about Mother Earth, remember this story. These “leaders” are lying to you, and you need to stop believing them.
