A mother from Florida allegedly killed her two children before committing suicide, police said Sunday.
Brandy Hutchins is believed to have murdered her 10-year-old son and 19-year-old daughter with a gun before turning it on herself at some point between Friday and Sunday, according to the New York Post. Hutchins was ordered to relinquish custody of her son to her ex by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, but never appeared for the appointment, sheriffs told the outlet.
When the family did not appear, law enforcement conducted a search of Hutchin’s mobile trailer home and found all three of the individuals dead inside, the Post reported. “Brandy Hutchins … from every indication in our investigation now has murdered her 10-year-old child and her 19-year-old child — murdered them and then subsequent to that, she shot herself,” Sheriff Grady Judd said in a press conference, per the Post. “I can’t imagine a more horrific set of circumstances.”

The father of Hutchins’ son posted a series of images to social media on Sunday shortly after law enforcement discovered the crime scene. “It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this to give everyone an update about my son Aiden Hutchins who was missing and taken by his mother on August 25 2023 who decided to murder him.. he was killed by her today,” he wrote.
