The Food and Drug Administration issued a huge recall of ice cream products on Thursday due to suspected listeria contamination.

The latest recall listed on the FDA’s website focuses on the Ice Cream House company, which is recalling all dairy ice cream products and non-dairy frozen dessert products over potential health risks related to Listeria monocytogenes. A comprehensive list of all recalled products is available on the FDA website, but it appears that almost all items on offer by the company are part of the recall.

Products ranging from sorbets, ice cream cakes  and tiramisu to something called “sushi ‘n’ cream” are listed on the FDA site, and most of these products were sold at the Ice Cream House in Brooklyn, New York. Retail supermarkets in New York, New Jersey, and Ohio are also being asked to remove the products from their shelves.

While listeria infections are typically short-term and not deadly to healthy adults, they can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women, the FDA noted. (RELATED: Salmonella Outbreak In 11 States Linked To Household Pet, CDC Says)

This is the third listeria-related recall announced in the last two weeks. On Aug. 23, the FDA issued a recall for Food Lion and Kroger products also thought to be contaminated with listeria. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also issued a warning in early August over Soft Serve On The Go products, which were also recalled over listeria contamination.
