The GOP holds its largest advantage on the economy in over 30 years, with 53% of Americans trusting Republicans more than Democrats on the issue, according to a poll released Tuesday.
Republicans held a 14-point lead over the Democrats, of whom only 39% of Americans said handle the economy better, according to a Gallup poll. The GOP scored 10 points higher on the economy than last year, marking the largest margin between the two parties since 1991. (RELATED: Voters Overwhelmingly Side With The GOP On The Economy: POLL)
The GOP also scored 22 points higher than the Democrats on national security, with only 35% of Americans thinking the latter does “a better job of protecting the country from international terrorism and military threats,” according to the poll. The survey also indicates that more Americans trust Republicans rather than Democrats to do a better job at handling whatever issue they deem most important, with 44% to 36%, respectively.
Both parties scored similar marks on favorability, with Democrats and Republicans receiving 58% and 56% favorability ratings, respectively, according to the survey.

A NBC News survey released Sept. 26 found similar results on the economy, with Republicans leading Democrats 49% to 28%, also the largest margin since 1991. The GOP also scored higher marks than Democrats among issues like border security and crime, while voters tapped the latter party on topics including healthcare and abortion, according to the poll.
President Joe Biden has branded his fiscal policy as “Bidenomics” while he runs for a second term, which consists of increased stimulus programs and green energy subsidies, while resulting in high inflation.
“Bidenomics—the President’s economic agenda—is strongly supported by the American people,” Michael Kikukawa, a spokesperson for the president, told the Daily Caller News Foundation in a statement. “While the press is focused on polls and sensationalist headlines, President Biden and Congressional Democrats are delivering for the American people by capping insulin costs, lowering prescription drug prices, creating clean energy and manufacturing jobs, and building stronger roads and bridges—accomplishments that four in five Americans support and which Congressional Republicans are attacking when they aren’t busy taking credit for them.”
“That work and our message build on what the midterms and recent special elections proved: Americans favor the President’s vision for growing the economy from the middle out and the bottom up over trickle-down MAGAnomics,” Kikukawa added.
The Gallup poll surveyed 1,016 adults across the country between Sept. 1 and Sept. 23 with a margin of error of plus or minus 4%.
