A group of thieves in Philadelphia wreaked havoc in the middle of the night on Sept. 26, leaving a local pharmacy in chaos.

The looters, armed with axes and hammers, ransacked the Fairmont Pharmacy by smashing the front door, according to Fox 29. The looters reportedly made off with an extensive haul, looting the entirety of the pharmacy’s medication stock.

The group also stole $68 cash from the register along with prepackaged prescriptions inside the pharmacy. The aftermath of their rampage has left a staggering estimate of $150,000 in damages and stolen goods, the outlet reported.

“About 3 o’clock this morning, I actually got a phone call from our tenants in the apartments above the pharmacy,” Gerald Volgraf, owner of Fairmount Pharmacy, told FOX 29. “When I got down here, the gates were ripped off, the store was a mess, there was a ton of debris, a ton of damage. There were medications missing.” (RELATED: Video Shows ‘Mob Of Criminals’ Ransacking Luxury Store In Broad Daylight)

Despite the looting, the pharmacy owner is still committed to serving the community. “We opened at 9 o’clock this morning, and we’ll be open at 9 o’clock tomorrow. We won’t allow someone to do something like this that’s gonna break our spirit and break our commitment to the community,” Volgraf said.

“I have a lot of respect for the businesses that have been getting hit multiple times and still making a conscious effort to come out every day and serve this community, but it’s a shame this keeps happening to them,” Jabari Jones of West Philadelphia Corridor Collaborative told Fox 29.
