The head of Hamas General Intelligence was successfully eliminated by an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Monday.

The IDF released the video allegedly showing the aerial bombing of the Hamas leader’s home, the Jerusalem Post reported.

“Since the commencement of Operation Swords of Iron, the IDF has effectively dismantled numerous critical components of Hamas infrastructure, targeting terrorists, and more. The success of this campaign can be attributed to the concerted efforts of various army units, in coordination with the Southern Homefront Command,” the commander of the IDF’s Southern Firepower Division told the Post. The outlet’s report did not include the target’s name.

The commander emphasized that these strikes were executed in furtherance of the general objective of stopping rocket attacks on Israel and dismantling Hamas, the outlet noted. The strike that killed the high-ranking terrorist comes amid a series of targeted assassinations that Israeli forces have conducted since Hamas’ Oct. 7 assault on southern Israel.

The IDF killed Ali Qadi, a Hamas commander who spearheaded the attack on Israel, on Saturday.

In a statement announcing Qadi’s death, the IDF vowed that other “Hamas terrorists will meet the same fate.”
