Britney Spears posted a promotional video Tuesday ahead of the release of her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” and gave fans a peek into what life under a conservatorship was really like.

The video was professionally edited and showcased a series of quick-flashing images of Spears over the years. “I’ll have a good book one day — a good, mysterious book,” Spears says in a voiceover, as the images continue to flash on the screen. She shows photos of herself as a young star, on the stage and behind the scenes, from the perspective of the paparazzi. The camera then gives a bird’s-eye-view of the words “Free Britney” painted on a road, with people scattered all around it.

The chaos of Spears’ life was perfectly captured in the clip, as a video of her on a roller coaster ride was shown.

An interviewer’s voice then booms over the endless snapshots of Spears’ life.

“When did you last feel free?”  he says.

“When I got to drive my car,” Spears responds.

“I never wanted to become one of those prisoner people … I wanted — I always wanted to get in my car and go and not let people make me feel like I had to stay in my home,” she adds in the video.

More chaotic images of her life on stage and being chased by fans quickly follow.

“You think you know, but you have no idea,” Spears says, teasing the content in her new book.

“There’s a lot that people don’t know, that I want them to know,” she continues in the clip.

The focus then shifts from her personal life to her career as a pop star, and then back to her personal life again.

“It’s like, I get off on challenging myself — pushing myself to the limit,” she says. (RELATED: Britney Spears Stuns Fans By Claiming She Aborted A Child With Justin Timberlake)

“1 week until my book #TheWomanInMe hits shelves!!! Thank you all for making it #1 on Amazon already !!! #AD,” Spears wrote in the caption of the promo video.

“The Woman in Me” is set to be released Oct. 24.
