A third top executive at the Russian oil company Lukoil died suddenly at the age of 66 on Tuesday, according to a statement cited by multiple outlets.

Lukoil chairman Vladimir Nekrasov died suddenly of cardiac arrest that led to acute heart failure, according to a statement released by the company. Nekrasov had worked in the oil and gas industry for almost 50 years, including other roles within the Russian oil giant.

Nekrasov is the second member of Lukoil’s leadership team to die unexpectedly. Former chairman of Lukoil, Ravil Maganov, was said to have died of “severe illness” in September 2022, but he was allegedly pushed out of a hospital window.

Another one of Nekrasov and Maganov’s former colleagues, Alexander Subbotin, reportedly died suddenly of heart failure while visiting a shaman.

Lukoil was one of the only major Russian corporations to take a public stand against Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, CNN reported. The company called for “the soonest termination of the armed conflict” in March 2022. (RELATED: Musk Says ‘Absurd’ Russian Thread On Apocalyptic Predictions For 2023 Is ‘Epic’)

Countless other Russian oligarchs have died since the outbreak of the war. Some deaths were reportedly more violent than others. For example, Russian sausage tycoon and politician Pavel Antov was allegedly found in a pool of blood after falling from a third-story hotel room window in India, days after a friend died in the same hotel.
