CNN host Poppy Harlow continued interrupting a Republican New York Rep. Anthony D’Esposito Tuesday as he attempted to answer her question about the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
Harlow asked D’Esposito on former Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney’s warning on NBC’s “Today” that voting for former President Donald Trump “may mean the last election that you ever get to vote in.” The New York representative cast doubt on Cheney’s claims, saying she is just “bitter.”

“I’m confident that the United States of America is the world’s greatest democracy, I think Liz Cheney might be a bit bitter,” D’Esposito said. “Let’s be honest, what we’re focused on right now as Republicans are the failures of the Biden administration and yes, I do run a Biden plus fourteen district, maybe even a little bit more. And the Republican are on the right side of every issue as we’ve seen over the last three years of my home county, we now after a couple Tuesdays ago control every bit of government from the city line all the way out to Suffolk County.”
“So you’re not concerned about what happened on January 6 and what could’ve happened if Mike Pence didn’t do what he did in certifying the vote? None of that concerns you? She’s talking about—yeah, go ahead,” Harlow said as D’Esposito attempted to start answering her.

“They’re are all issues, but that’s not what I asked you. I asked you about preserving democracy,” Harlow interrupted.
D’Esposito finished his answer saying he is “confident” that American democracy is the greatest in the world, and people will “continue to fight for that democracy.”
The liberal media has echoed Cheney’s warnings that Trump could end American democracy and attempt to seize power if reelected. Charlie Sykes, the editor-in-chief of The Bulwark, claimed the former president would construct concentration camps during his second term, and former Democratic Missouri Rep. Claire McCaskill said Trump is “even worse” than Adolf Hitler.
