Doritos unveiled a new product that merges their signature cheese flavor with alcohol.

Doritos‘ new nacho cheese spirit was created alongside flavor innovation company Empirical and promises to impress.

Their cheesy, boozy beverage will not have a typical liquor base such as vodka or gin. It is being described as a drink that “smells and tastes just like the real thing,” according to a press release issued Tuesday.

“Doritos is all about disrupting culture and bringing our fans unexpected, bold experiences,” Senior Vice President of Marketing for Frito-Lay North America Tina Mahal said.

She went on to describe Doritos’ new venture into the world of spirits.

“We’re always pushing our fans to try new things, so we figure it’s time we disrupt the spirits category by offering our iconic nacho cheese flavor in a bottle,” Mahal continued.

The press release explained the process involved in creating this new product, saying that many layers of Doritos Nacho Cheese flavor are extracted through Empirical’s production process. Dorito chips are used and undergo vacuum distillation at very low temperatures, which preserves the flavor.

Consumers that are interested in diving into this boozy-Dorito experience should be warned that this is a limited edition product. “Empirical x Doritos Nacho Cheese Spirit” will only be available in the month of January and a 750 ml bottle will retail for $65. The beverage will be sold online as well as in select California and New York stores, with pre-orders opening up online Dec. 13.

“Empirical is an ‘uncategorized’ spirits company, so it allows us the freedom to experiment with really interesting flavors and not have to be stuck in a gin box or tequila box or whiskey box,” chef/distiller & CEO of Empirical, Lars Williams, said.
