A missing child’s body was reportedly found encased in concrete on Jan. 10 after disappearing five years ago.

Police discovered the child’s body enveloped by concrete in a metal container inside a Colorado storage unit during a homicide investigation, according to The AP.

The discovery occurred when the storage unit was being emptied due to unpaid rent, Sgt. Franklyn Ortega with the Pueblo Police Department said on Thursday. The metal container was among the items removed from the abandoned storage unit, the outlet reported.

Police said they will contact the victim’s parents before the Pueblo County Coroner can release the name, age and suspected time of death of the child, according to the outlet.

Two suspects were identified by investigators, police said. Ortega did not disclose whether the child’s parents were the persons of interest after the discovery at the storage unit, the outlet reported. (RELATED: ‘Completely Brokenhearted’: Baby Found Dead In Construction Site Dumpster: REPORT)

Pueblo Police launched an investigation into the safety of two other children, Jesus Dominguez and Yesenia Dominguez, following the uncovering of the unidentified victim’s remains, according to the outlet. There had been “no sign, no indication” of Jesus, who would be 10 years old, and Yesenia, who would be 9 years old, since July 2018, Ortega said.

Both children have not been reported missing, Ortega said. The police sergeant revealed that he spoke to their parents, according to the outlet.
