Democrats are twisting Donald Trump’s words in order to put on a show of moral outrage. What else is new?

The latest grand stand comes from Trump’s comments on “black jobs” during last week’s debate, which are reportedly stirring Democratic anger.

“The fact is that his [Joe Biden’s] big kill on the black people is the millions of people that he’s allowed to come in through the border. They’re taking black jobs now,” Trump said during the debate.

The line has been “widely condemned,” Politico notes, from Democrats like Stacy Abrams, Rep. Raphael Warnock, and DNC Chair Jaime Harrison.

“There is no such thing as a Black job. That misinformed characterization is a denial of the ubiquity of Black talent. We are doctors, lawyers, school teachers, police officers and firefighters. The list goes on,” said Derrick Johnson, president and CEO of the NAACP, in his best impression of righteous indignation.

Dems are laying down their acting chops harder than usual on this one. These condemnations make it seem as though Trump denigrated a caste of black jobs as some permanent fixture of the American social system. Trump thinks lower class and/or manual labor jobs are “black jobs,” Johnson seems to imply, showing exactly what he thinks of people who don’t have what he deems to be a respectable career.

But to anyone with a functioning brain and moral compass, this is not what Trump meant.

First, Dems hit him for being racist for supposedly not caring about black Americans. Now, Trump is supposedly doubly racist for caring about the loss of black jobs. However, what he very clearly meant is that black people, like Americans of all colors, are losing out on jobs to the flow of illegal immigrants that the Biden administration has facilitated into the country. You have to be purposefully obtuse to take it any other way.

If Dems truly don’t believe in a “black job,” then we can cut all the DEI nonsense. No black jobs, no female jobs, no gay or trans jobs — only the best person for the job. But of course, that’s not what Democrats want. All they really want to do is call Trump a racist, and ride that anger to another four years of political power.
