SALISBURY, Vt. (AP) — Vermont State Police say a snowmobiling accident on a frozen lake has killed three people — including a 3-year-old girl.

Police say three snowmobiles carrying six people altogether went through ice on Lake Dunmore near Salisbury at around noon Saturday.

After the first two submerged, the third sled began to go into the water when operator Terry Flynn pushed her rear passenger, a 4-year-old, to safety before going in.

Flynn and the occupants of the first two sleds — her husband Kevin Flynn, daughter Carrie Flynn, grandchild 3-year-old Bryanna Popp and another child, 6-year-old Jeremiah Popp — were pulled from the water.

Killed were: 50-year-old Kevin Flynn, of Whiting; 24-year-old Carrie Flynn, of Whiting; and 3-year-old Bryanna Popp.

They were pronounced dead at a Middlebury hospital.
