ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — Police in Virginia have looked for a handgun at the apartment of Washington Wizards guard Javaris Crittenton, but court records show nothing was seized.

Arlington Police conducted the search Thursday. Crittenton has been excused by the team from practices and games while authorities investigate a spat with Gilbert Arenas.

The spat prompted Arenas, a three-time All-Star, to take guns out of his locker last month at the team’s arena. Arenas has said he took unloaded guns out of his locker in a “misguided effort to play a joke” on a teammate.

Crittenton’s lawyer, Peter White, declined to comment on the search. Crittenton has said through his lawyer he did nothing wrong.
