SARGODHA, Pakistan (AP) — Five Americans detained in Pakistan on suspicion of terrorism have alleged that they are being tortured.

Several of the five men shouted to reporters, “We are being tortured,” as they were driven from court Monday.

Police investigator Nazir Ahmed says they did not make the allegations while inside the court in Sargodha city in northeast Punjab province, where police submitted charges alleging the men were plotting an act of terrorism.

The five men, all from the Washington, D.C., area, have been jailed since their arrest in early December.
