The Orange County Flyers, an independent pro baseball team, is auctioning on eBay the right to be a team coach for a day.
Bidding starts at $2,500 – or “Buy It Now” for $5,000 – and the auction closes May 3.
Independent and minor league teams usually have a tight budget so they have to make up in creativity what they lack in cash for rally monkeys and player bobblehead dolls, to mention a couple of fan giveaways by the LA Angels of Anaheim.
