It looks like Google is testing the waters with a new feature on Google Voice allowing users to transfer their current numbers to the web-based phone service.
According to Engadget, Google was testing the feature last night on Google Voice before pulling it off the site.
A Google representative told the tech site, “We’re continually testing new features to enhance the user experience. For a limited amount of time, we’re making the Google Voice number-porting process available to users. We don’t have any additional details to share at this time, but plan to offer this feature to all users in the near future.”
