Gary Johnson demos conservative bona fides in new video

The tagline to a video the Gary Johnson team sent The Daily Caller reads: “The most experienced candidate in the race flexes his conservative muscle.”

It’s a statement meant to be taken both metaphorical and literal. The video,”Who is Gary Johnson,” features numerous quotes from conservative publications touting Johnson’s bona fides, set beside footage of the former New Mexico governor biking, swimming, running and generally looking like one fit presidential candidate. The video is similar to Johnson’s other low-key and somewhat unusual spots, rivaling Jon Huntsman’s touted “unconventional” approach. Johnson has had difficulties appearing like a legitimate Republican contender recently. He protested his exclusion from last month’s CNN debate and commentators are quick to refer to him as the (second) “libertarian” candidate in a crowded field already fretting over the image and direction of the Republican party.
