“Anchorman” star Fred Willard, 72, was arrested at an adult movie theater in Hollywood for “lewd conduct.” Undercover police officers were performing a routine walk through the Tiki Theater when they caught Willard masturbating.
TMZ reports that it is required for adult movie theaters to allow cops to into the theater whenever they want to inspect it. Theaters like the one Willard was arrested at must also post signs on the front of the building warning customers that the building is inspected by the police.
The Tiki Theater was playing a rotation of three films that night: “Follow Me 2,” “Step Dad No. 2,” and a spoof of TV series “The Client List.” It is unknown which of these films Willard was watching when he was caught with his pants down.
Willard posted a $500 bail and was released early Thursday morning.
Willard, a three time Emmy nominee, is known for roles such as Hank MacDougall in “Everybody Loves Raymond,” and Buck Lauglin in “Best in Show” and, of course, as Will Ferrell’s boss Ed Harken in “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” He has also appeared on popular TV shows such as “Modern Family” and “That 70’s Show.”
Coincidentally, Willard is rumored to be playing Peter Murphy in comedy film “The Yank.”
