On Thursday, the media began reporting that former NBA star/crazy person Dennis Rodman finally caught up his estranged biological father, following an exhibition game in the Philippines.

Most news outlets, however, are not focusing on the most interesting aspect of this story, which is that the tattooed, dress-wearing, ex-husband of Carmen Electra’s dad, Philander Rodman, Jr., owns a restaurant in Manila called “Rodman’s Rainbow Obamaburger,” which vaguely sounds like it could be the codename for a lewd sex act.

Barstool Sports, a site that upholds the gold standard in journalism ethics, wrote that more news outlets needed to focus on the fact that Rodman’s Rainbow Obamaburger exists — not that Dennis Rodman met his father for the first time. “I need to know more about Rodman’s Rainbow Obamaburger,” Barstool blogger feitelberg wrote. “And people wonder why journalism is going the way of the dodo bird. Sloppy reporting all around.”

On a similar note, the Associated Press report made mention of the fact that Philander Rodman, Jr. fathered 29 children with 16 different women, yet failed to underscore that his given name is “Philander,” which is a synonym for “womanize,” according to Dictionary.com.

The only other detail from the Associated Press about Rodman’s Rainbow Obamaburger is that the “menu includes burgers with red, yellow and green colored buns and fries, colors associated with [Philander’s] flamboyant son.”
