The Twitter account of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev — one of the Boston Marathon suspects who has not yet been taken into custody — remained active on the social media site even after Monday’s twin bombings showing that he made definite, as well as apparent, references to the attacks and the aftermath.
The Twitter account is labeled as belonging to a “Jahar,” supposedly the name his friends called him, and CNN has confirmed that the account belongs to the suspect. The account’s “J-tsar” avatar is a picture of a lion and includes the Arabic Islamic phrase “Salam aleikum,” which translates to “Peace be with you.”
Day 1 — April 15:

On the evening of April 15 — after the twin bombings killed three and wounded 180 — Dzhokhar tweeted a play on a Jay-Z lyric: “Ain’t no love in the heart of the city, stay safe people.”
Later, he tweeted “@MellowChamp and they got what “god hates dead people?” or victims of tragedy? Lol those people are cooked.” The context of this conversation is unclear, as MellowChamp’s tweets are private.
Later in the evening, Dzhokhar tweeted, “There re people that know the truth but stay silent & there are people that speak the truth but we don’t hear them cuz they’re the minority.”
Day 2 — April 16:

On April 16, the day after the attacks, Dzhokhar tweeted “So then I says to him, I says, relax bro my beard is not loaded.”
That day he also tweeted at @ImRealTed, who sent out a story about a man who found his girlfriend who he was going to propose to dead in the wake of the bombing. “@ImRealTed fake story,” Dzhokhar tweeted in response.

Day 3 — April 17:

On the morning of April 17, Dzhokhar sent his last tweet as of publishing. It was a retweet from the account of Mufti Ismail Menk, “Attitude can take away your beauty no matter how good looking are [sic] it could enhance your beauty, making you adorable.”
Mufti Ismail Menk’s Twitter account says he is based in Zimbabwe, and descirbes him as “Muslim Scholar. Studied in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Authentic teachings.”
On the afternoon of April 17, the FBI announced that it had identified suspects and made massive gains in the investigation. Two days later, Dzhokhar’s brother was killed in a shootout with police.
The manhunt for Dzhokhar continues as Boston and the surrounding suburbs are on complete lockdown.
