Here’s Harpo talking about The Butler with The Most British Man Who Has Ever Lived. At the 2:50 mark, after she notes that all racists need to die for racism to end — hop to it, racists! — he gets down to business:
Do you think, has it ever crossed your mind that some of the treatment of Obama and the challenges he’s faced and some of the reporting he’s received is because he’s an African-American, and if he wasn’t an African-American, if he was a white guy, those wouldn’t have happened, he wouldn’t have been treated in quite the same way, he wouldn’t have to deal with quite the same confrontations?
Has it ever crossed my mind? It’s crossed my mind probably as many times as it’s crossed your mind. Probably it’s crossed my mind more times than it’s crossed your mind. Just the level of disrespect. When the Senator yelled out, “You’re a liar.” Remember that? Yeah, I think that there is a level of disrespect for the office that occurs, and that occurs in some cases and maybe even many cases because he’s African-American.
Also, Obama was lying. But whatever.
In fairness, that was just about the most loaded question in the history of questions. He might as well have said, “There’s no other possible explanation for criticism of Obama. It’s racism. Don’t you agree?” Yes, yes, poor Obama. Has any POTUS in history ever had to suffer such scrutiny, bear such indignity? It’s shameful.
But she didn’t have to play along. She just told you what she thinks of you if you dissent from the Obama administration. You’re a bunch of racists, America, for questioning the guy who you, um… elected in the first place.
And look how pleased that bloke was with himself when she praised him for his deeply perceptive racebaiting. Yay, he has a black friend now.
Now look under your seats, everybody. You get a race card! And you get a race card! And you get a race card!
