George Zimmerman was granted $9,000 bond and ordered to have no contact with firearms after a court appearance Tuesday.

Zimmerman was there to answer to charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, battery and criminal mischief stemming from a domestic disturbance.

On Monday, Zimmerman’s girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, called 911 to report that he had pointed a double-barreled shotgun at her and pushed her out of her residence following a verbal altercation.

The altercation occurred as Zimmerman was reportedly moving out of the residence. Scheibe claimed that when she told Zimmerman that she would call the police if he didn’t leave, he pointed the weapon at her for about a minute.

“You point your gun at my fricking face,” an irate Scheibe can be heard saying to Zimmerman on a 911 call from the incident.

Scheibe said that Zimmerman was in her house smashing some of her belongings.

Zimmerman also called 911 as police arrived at the residence, saying, “I just want everyone to know the truth.” He said that Scheibe was pregnant and that when she asked him to move out, he said he would, enraging Scheibe.

It was later reported by a Seminole County sheriff’s spokesman that Scheibe is not pregnant.

Other details arose at Tuesday’s hearing. A state prosecutor said that Scheibe alleged that Zimmerman had choked her in an incident that occurred the previous week and that he had talked about committing suicide.

Because of those allegations, the judge increased Zimmerman’s bond from the amount requested by Zimmerman’s court-appointed lawyers.

Besides being prevented from having contact with guns, Zimmerman was also ordered to have no contact with Scheibe. He must also wear an electronic monitoring device and surrender his passport.

Zimmerman’s next hearing is scheduled for Jan. 7. He was acquitted in the murder of Trayvon Martin.
