Does President Barack Obama hold any responsibility for Iraq’s undoing?
Al-Qaida’s resurgence in Iraq continued last week when the terrorist organization recaptured part of Fallujah and Ramadi. Some conservatives, like Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer, say the Iraq war was essentially won when President Obama took office and that Obama squandered that victory by failing to negotiate a status of forces agreement with the Iraqi government to keep a contingent of American troops in the country.
On “Fox News Sunday,” George Will and Brit Hume engaged in verbal fisticuffs over the subject, with Hume slamming President Obama on Iraq and Will dismissing the notion that the president holds any responsibility for Iraq’s current woes.
