Former Republican Florida governor Jeb Bush will hit Illinois, Florida and Michigan in a tour of GOP campaign events over the next several weeks.
As the Washington Examiner detailed, Bush will make three high-profile appearances this month and next: a campaign stop with Illinois gubernatorial hopeful Bruce Rauner in Chicago on September 18; a September 23 fundraiser in Florida for five competitive Republican Senate candidates including hawkish Arkansas prospect Tom Cotton; and an up to $5,000 per head fundraising gala for Michigan governor Tom Snyder in October.
Bush, considered a potential 2016 presidential candidate, noticeably tipped off his presidential ambitions when he appeared at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s March meeting at top donor Sheldon Adelson’s Las Vegas resort. Bush’s brother, former President George W. Bush, has said repeatedly that “Jeb’s got a tough decision to make.”
Jeb Bush recently called entering the United States illegally an “act of love” and pointed out that it’s “not a felony.”
