The Northwestern Wildcats pulled off an astounding overtime upset of 15th-ranked Notre Dame this past Saturday.
This isn’t the first time the Irish have fallen to Northwestern: In 1995, the Wildcats pulled off “The Upset of the Century,” but this one was even better, reports ESPN.
Spirits were high after Jack Mitchell — the Northwestern kicker — banged in 45- and 41-yard field goals to send the game into overtime and seal the win, but this was nothing compared to what awaited the Wildcats inside the locker room.
“Shit, and we got Chick-fil-A? This is the best day ever!”
I couldn’t agree with you more.
Jack Mitchell might’ve iced that game, but Northwestern football isn’t afraid to give credit where credit is due.
